Liminal Space: Benjamin Loftis, Red, Yellow, Green, Blind Alley, July 15 – 27, 2023
Through the intermingling reflections of obscured photography, glass, and neon, the
installation Liminal Space: Benjamin Loftis, Red, Yellow, Green, contemplates fluidity of identity,
the power of representation, and resonance of personal narratives. Overwhelming the space,
the faded image of a man serves as a portal to the past. This solemn gray field veils a neon
target symbolizing the crosshairs of scrutiny and the individual's identity within societal
constructs. Loftis notes that, “Red, Yellow, Green, serves as a visual tapestry, inviting viewers to
reflect upon their own stories and embrace the diverse complexities that shape us as
individuals.”
