March 21 prompt:

March 2020 - 2021, what was sacrificed?

The Ides of each month celebrated Jupiter, the supreme deity and god of the sky. Jupiter’s high priest led the “Ides sheep” in a procession to its sacrifice. In addition to the monthly sacrifice, on the Ides of March was the Feast of Anna Perenna, the goddess of the year, of the circle or ring marking the new year.
